Yes indeed, instead of lifting/separating PIN #8 everytime I want to read/write the chip, I separated and soldered a diode (PMEG3005ELD) between the capacitor and the PCB VIA of the VCC track to PIN #8. The voltage drop is around 300mV but this should be still in spec of the MX25L6435E. Now when I power the flash chip from my Flash programmer I won't power the whole module.
I think for using the clip in-circuit you still need to separate Pin #8?
Would it possible for you to do this also with the 0000000000 password?

I sent my FGS202 with in-circuit programming to the location I actually would like to use it. Hopefully I can debug it remotely.
Does the module also use the changes you write there, and are they still there after a power loss? I thought the PEB98036 is only emulating the EEPROM and the changes are not written back to flash.
