D-Link LTE router in bridge mode

Hi, I would like to make my D-Link LTE router with OpenWRT just an LTE modem. How to set up a transparent bridge in OpenWRT ?

Below is a diagram:

D-Link LTE modem - bridge --->Mikrotik doing NAT, DHCP, switch etc. ---> Computers on LAN

Thanks in advance.

Mariusz.

network -> wireless -> scan -> join

put the connection in the wan firewall zone.

I am thinking of a transparent wire bridge. Not about a wireless bridge.

Sorry I didn't add that.

then you need to explain what you mean by transparent wired bridge, it's not clear, at least not to me.

I want the D-Link with OpenWRT to work only as an LTE modem. No NAT, DHCP etc.

outdated, but could help Bridge Mode - LTE USB Modem

in some cases stock fw is good enough, when you want bridge mode, if supported.

Yes the original D-Link soft supported the bridge I am referring to. But this soft was very poor. So I decided to install OpenWRT.

The situation described in the given post is different. My D-Link has a built-in LTE modem.

Above is a diagram of my planned network. I am concerned with setting up bridge mode to avoid double NAT. The microtik will do NAT,DHCP server etc.

The Mikrotik will switch between ISP-1 and ISP-2 links, but for this to work the D-Link must be in bridge mode. So that there is no double NAT.

and you're sure it actually matters ?

AFAIK most built in modems are USB based.

That is not possible until your modem (that is installed in D-Link) can work in NCM or ECM mode with IP Passthrough. In this case you could just bridge the WWAN interface with one of the LAN ports or with a VLAN. If bridge mode is a must for you, you better return to stock firmware.

Thank you AndrewZ. Unfortunately, that's what I thought too. I wasted a great deal of time yesterday trying to set this up. Returns, tem router and buys another one that natively supports transparent bridge. The stock software on this D-Link is very poor.

The ZTE MF286D is very cheap in PL, if bought used.
