Build for Linksys EA9500

Hi guys

OpenWRT noob here.

Could someone please confirm that all 8 LAN ports + wifi clients should be able to talk to each other out of the box? Having random issues with some devices not being able to ping each other (that were before I installed the OpenWRT box). eg Windows 10 desktop cant ping a raspberry pi but a Windows 10 laptop can?

Only thing I've changed out of the box is added a guest wifi by following the wiki

Thanks!

You don't need to install on failsafe after you start installing build from official development builds page

am i good now?
thx for help!! bro

openwrt-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx definitely fucks the router.

Tried a couple of times and had to failsafe it back to life, then reflash 20210809

There is something wrong with current version of Openwrt snapshot. I'll verify and report a bug.

tried to reflash it again but no luck ...

I hope I dont sound ungrateful because I really dont mean to sound like that but are these builds tested before they are deployed/published?

Took me 3 hours to get the router back up and running again (OpenWRT noob). I dont think I'll be attempting another update for a while.

I'm also now getting xmorphs issue:

root@OpenWrt:~# mtd write /mnt/openwrt-20210809.trx failsafe
Could not open mtd device: failsafe

Anyway we can fix that?

Thanks for your help

Sorry for the troubles, I did not intend to brick routers. I tried an earlier snapshot version and it worked for me. This version indeed has issues.

Please, dont apologise!

Thank you for your work!! Its really appreciated!

I'm having issues with 20210809 where only devices connected to ports 3,4,7,8 can talk to each other, its very strange. Have done a factory reset.

I tried having them in 1,2,3,5,6 (like the previous posts say) but only in 3,4,7,8 and LAN devices+wifi clients talk to each other. Havent changed any fw/VLAN settings

Did you try openwrt-21.02.0-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx or only the snapshot?

openwrt-21.02.0-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx - stable
openwrt-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx - snapshot

hi
i tried this build openwrt-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx only and it didnt work... and running now 20210809.trx ... is there any other working build?

openwrt-21.02.0-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx - this is the stable release

https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=21.02.0&target=bcm53xx%2Fgeneric&id=linksys_ea9500

openwrt-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx is the nightly snapshot

ok
just flashed openwrt-21.02.0-rc4-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs was not looking ...but this seems to work

ok just loaded
Firmware Version OpenWrt 21.02.0 r16279-5cc0535800 / LuCI openwrt-21.02 branch git-21.231.26241-422c175 "openwrt-21.02.0-rc4-bcm53xx-generic-linksys_ea9500-squashfs.trx" (i'll give it a shoot)

Excellent!
