[Banana BPI-R4] all related to MTK-SDK

few more details here if you want em. Also, if you want any explicit dumps Im burning beta to my NAND and keeping Sinovoip on my SDCard so I can swap back and forth quickly between builds.

Its pretty clear to me its not a hardware failure, in that the sinovoip build lets me get much higher dbm; I'm guessing it's some interaction of driver, eeprom and reg settings - but I'm way to noob to diagnose it so far. I wonder if it's possible to load the eeprom / eeprom settings from a device that works in beta 24 to one that doesnt?

Good morning @deltakx, I'm glad to see that it's not a board error, but as you say, it all comes from the eeprom.

There were changes with the 227, it may come from those images onwards as you mentioned in the previous thread of this forum,

here in this version only 2g and 5g give 27 dbm, 6g are 25 dbm, the 3 are not the same power.

I don't really know how you can solve it, since they are currently working on that patch since it came out.

thanks for the clarification

Any chance to add kmod-tun to this build ? That's only part I'm missing to use tailscale.
I also noticed on last build that cpu fan is constantly at full speed...

You can try using this BPI-R4_MLO_beta1_tun

Will be resolved in beta2, now you can silence it from the terminal
root@OpenWrt:~# echo 1 > /sys/class/thermal/cooling_device0/cur_state

This is openwrt-mediatek-filogic-bananapi_bpi-r4-tun-sdcard.img ? No sysupgrade ?

My plan in this thread is not to build releases according to users wishes, but to develop a fully functional wifi 7 mlo ...but here you have it sysupgrade
Otherwise you can use openwork mainline releases without any problem

All releases in this thread are experimental and not built using the mainline openwrt build system, so if you want to modify something in the source, you should do it in the mainline source. The other option is to try using this

Good afternoon colleagues, I was bored and I did this in case you want to have this image as the main one, but removing the networks that were open and could enter the router. There are 3 different wireguard configurations.

The only bad thing is that only the word DIGI appears, I have not managed to get MT76_AP_MLD to appear.

I have completely eliminated 2g, and 5g is also eliminated, the line that was open so that people can use it if they want for the moment as the main one without being afraid of someone getting into the router.

The wifi passwords are all 12345678, then in the wireguard network configuration it has xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, so that people can put their own.

The automatic restart is also configured so that you can program the router on the day and time you want or to restart every day at the same time

The 4 configurations are these. decoder ip 192.168.11.3

1st wireguard on sfp+rj45 + lan port 1 on lan ports 2 and lan 3 they output with public ip, then on wireless they output with public ip and wireguard

only+wireguard+sfp+1+lan port 1 on lan ports 2 and lan 3 they output with public ip
2nd sfp+rj45 plus all lan ports output with public ip, wireguard only output on wifi and also output public ip too in case you want to use it.

only+wireguard+wifi+an+ip+publish+-backup-OpenWrt-2025-01-22.tar.gz

3rd only wireguard on the whole router and on wifi.
only+wireguard+backup-OpenWrt-2025-01-22.tar.gz

4 this is all without wireguard to use it as a normal network but without 2g and 5g being open with wifi 5 and 6g enabled with password 12345678

backup-OpenWrt-2025-01-22.tar

Have a nice day

Good morning, I wanted to show you some photos of how my network works right now. I have 10 gigabytes of data, I have 2 bananas, a main one connected by wireguard to a server that is more than 2,000 km from my house, and a second banana that is connected by an 8-port 10 GB switch to the first banana.

I have a 10 GB network card in my PC, which is connected to the second banana and the WAN of the first banana enters it through the switch.

The speeds that Banana manages through Cable Land are spectacular, it's a shame that so much speed is lost through Wi-Fi.

1 banana

2 banana

2 banana wifi wireguard

I think it needs more time to get it full functional by OpenWRT snapshot

I hope @woziwrt can help to add these important points to his image that built by him ....

if you can share it Sysupgrade so I can test it .....

Thanks

Good afternoon, I agree with you, but so far it is the best work there is for those of us who only use fiber,

it is a very beta image, which can be used freely by anyone who wants it, but it is by far the best work that has been released to date.

I am using it for 3 days in a row and I have not had a single problem. I have all 3 bands in wifi mode 7 working, which no other image has.

I totally agree that there is still a lot of work to be done.

but for now this is the best there is currently, I highly doubt that the colleague will release any more Sysupgrade, I am sorry to tell you this

he has a much larger project in hand which will see the light in due time and surely what you are asking for is included in that project.

but for now he is not going to release any more Sysupgrade.

greetings

oh this is bad news ...

so can you help me or guide , how I can use his image so I can add more package on it before install it on current running OpenWRT ..

Because I tried Mr @woziwrt image yesterday ...I couldn't get netowrk through modem (RM551 X75 snapdragon ) because modem on QMI mode and his image doesn't support QMI and there are some modem USB packages were missing ..so I mentioned to him in important package ..

but really his image was more better than Official Snapshot OpenWRT

Hi there, I'm sorry I can't help you. If I find a way to find the packages that are valid for the compilation, I'll send them to you.

Regards

Hi, I'm sorry I can't help you. There are many dependencies that are not compatible.

We'll have to wait for the new work, but we'll have to be patient.

A few days ago I told myself that I won't build out any releases based on user requests in this thread, but I'm in a good mood today, so here it is
