Try

opkg install 6to4 --force-depends

@weedv2

It does include LuCI and wifi must be enabled from interface.

It's in, but no joy sad

@gufus

Uninstall 6to4 then:

opkg install kmod-sit --force-depends
opkg install 6to4 --force-depends

@gufus

Apparently the 1200AC is based on the same Armada-XP SOC but I'd never trade my beloved 1900AC's for it. Hopefully, seeing as it is advertised as opensource-ready, we will see further improvement on the wifi driver.

With latest @Kaloz snapshot, fan is constantly on. I tried to turn it off but seems there is no such device to set the settings.

/sys/devices/gpio_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1

Under /sys/devices/, only two sub folder "gpio-leds" and "gpio_keys".

Anyway to solve this or wait for next build?

Answer my own question. The new path is "/sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1".

Just change value to 0 and fan will turn off.

@LogicoZone

I connected to the router using Putty and SSH and changed to the "/sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0" folder. What command do I run to let me see the value of pwm1? And what command do I run to turn the fan off?

echo 1 > /sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1
This will put and keep the fan on (and likely at full speed)

echo 0 > /sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1
to manually turn it off (permanently)

@raven-au
I'm really curious to see if your patch will go through.  I hope it does.

Dunno if this is pertinent for this forum but I cannot find any forum on the WRT1900AC stock fw.

I have my router setup in wifi repeater mode on the stock fw but everytime I reboot the router or lose power it cannot associate with my ISP router to repeat the WIFI. I need to set it up all over again everytime. Any tips?

Can anyone provide a more thorough explanation of how to use the "USB TTL" cable to recover from my bricked state?

@gufus,

That worked, it let me turn the fan off, thanks! One last question: how do I see what the current value is? I tried :
echo /sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1

but that just returns /sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1 - how do I see what the current value of /sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1 is?

Use "cat", not "echo".

echo 5 > /sys/devices/pwm_fan/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1

50% speed?

Thanks @jow !

I found getting the thing apart was the most difficult bit.
There's not much about how to remove the top rear cover in descriptions I've seen.

I ended up separating the side rear back cover, near the serial header, just a little so I could attach three female to female leads (so there's no exposed pins), threading them through each of three holes in the top of the case. IIRC I had to push the side of the top rear cover in a bit to release the clip so I could separate it. There's not much give only releasing that one clip and not much room to attach the wires but it was just enough for me.

So now I have the unit back together with three wires coming out of the top and I can plug in three other male to female leads that then attach to the USB-to-TTL.

Removing the rear casing seemed too hard but now I can plug it in any time I need to anyway.

None can help me with openvswitch ?

Once again the question is: 'is it possible to run it on this AP? do you have any suggestion?'

It's sad to see that you've spent a lot of time answering to a guy that just shouts while ignoring people that kindly ask questions.

it tends to be the squeaky wheel gets the grease in forums. https://github.com/pichuang/openvwrt. it shows it as CC ready and some one has to be first to test wink

Thank you for the suggestion, I've tried to install it but apparently the kernel 3.18.1 in not supported

root@OpenWrt:~# opkg info kmod-openvswitch
Package: kmod-openvswitch
Version: 3.14.27+2.3.1-0dfed4ba9c8a16a1f316d709b7831a4e139472d4

Any idea ?

@piepoli.antonio
opkg --force-depends install kmod-openvswitch
ignore output
reboot
check if it installed

hi,

i tried lifehacksback latest testing today. it worked quite alright except for two things:

1) openvpn is not available. i know this is due to cc being trunk and will be fixed soon. EDIT: just read that you can force install...

2) i had troubles with wifi speed. don't know if i did something wrong, or if it is related to the iphone.

for radio0 i chose: n, 40mhz, channel 36, 20db
for radio1 i chose: ac, 80mhz, channel 48, 20db.

my clients all connected with 6mbit and showed very slow speedtest results. via lan my laptop maxed out my wan connection.

i'd like to thank the devs for their hard work!

best regards

Nope. If you look at
http://git.openwrt.org/?p=openwrt.git;a … a.dts#l321
it seems that the fan is controlled by a single gpio.  So only on/off is possible.

radio0 is for 2.4GHz, so should be set to one of channels 1, 6 or 11
You should also set it to 20MHz so that you're not taking up too much spectrum, although the radio should drop down to 20MHz automatically if you've set 40MHz if it detects stations in your extension channel.

Where are you seeing the 6mbit connection figure?  I believe this is just a place holder and not accurate.

Since you mentioned the iphone, there's a known problem with apple wifi clients.
The fix is to log in to OpenWRT via ssh and type:

uci set wireless.@wifi-iface[0].disassoc_low_ack=0
uci set wireless.@wifi-iface[1].disassoc_low_ack=0
uci commit
wifi

Please note that AC wireless is known to be poorer performing with the current Marvell driver code than Linksys stock.  The above fixes won't do anything about that, but should at least give you as good as you can currently get.
