Updating TP-Link Archer C2 V1

I have a old version of LEDE installed on my TP-Link Archer C2 which I downloaded from here. The firmware version is LEDE Reboot 17.01.6 r3979-2252731af4 and the kernel version is 4.4.153.

OpenWrt 19.07 seems to be available for my router, so I downloaded the upgrade file and tried to flash it using LuCI. However, I got the following error:

The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.

Am I doing something wrong?

  1. Rename image to shorter name, like 's.bin' Try to use Web-Interface. If OK, stop.
  2. Upload image to /tmp folder of router, verify sha1sum, after that flash image using mtd: mtd write /tmp/s.bin firmware

Using mtd write /tmp/s.bin firmware works.
