I apologize if I am a beginner that you wanted to say about the dd command where it should be entered?
I will try it right now!
it did not work exactly as you said, the lights are on all
Please be more precise.
What have you done? What images have you used ?
OK
I said so:
I used that file that gave me @dktm that 4mb flash with the ch341a programmer, of course that was for the router version 4 and then I upgrade from lede to pulpstone firmware to have the u-boot partition in RW reading and writing) after that I wrote u-boot of 128kbV5 that gave me @dktm, it did not work tftp!
Try it this way:
- Start a linux machine
- copy u-boot v5 to a folder on linux machine
- dl fw TL-WR740N-V5 also to this folder
- append exteracted fw image to u-boot image with
cat fw_v5.bin >> u-boot.bin
- flash this combinied image (u-boot, v5 fw) with ch341a programmer to flash
One note: I hope you have not destroyed the last 64kb with art partition (wifi calibration data) of your spi flash
nope, art partition is ok
same thing, not working tftp!
Are you able to provide a serial log while you try a tftp recovery?
no at this moment, sorry i not have a serial usb tll device, only a spi programmer! and serial interface not work at this programmer
i found that:
some thing wrong with u-boot TLWR740v5. If you flash my u-boot means you are on Mod flash now.
you can easy to flash firmware by:
-set IP computer: 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.1
-press reset button while put power cord and conunt all flash lamp 4 times and release button reset
-brower Web 192.168.1.1 then chose file an update firmware
If you like to U-boot has TFTP you can use Uboot v4 can tftp as like v5.
as a usual mod flash has only 64kb but i cat on my router has 128kb
@juppin @dktn victory loved and beautiful people, I managed to fix it, how did I do it?
I used the u-boot v5 from @dktn I made flash to the u-boot partition through ssh using putty, of course with pulpstone lede firmware, after I did that I went back to the stock firmware which @juppin gave me the one without the boot in the file name, after which I downloaded another firmware stock from the tp link site with the boot in the name of the file I loaded it on the router and now, voila, it goes
I do not know how to thank you guys for what other people did not do, thanks again and I hope in the near future to work with such wonderful people and something else thank you for patience with me :)))
P.S. I have been without this router since December 2017 and up to today!
I have a few proofs!
tftp recovery stock firmware wr740nv5 (u-boot problem) solved
Hello
Is the 740N(ES) 5.1 and 5.2 supported or not? I did not understand all...
I want to compile my version of OpenWRT as I have done for 740N(ES) 4.25 , 841n v8-13 etc.
Which version does work from repository or do I have to patch something?
