do you have a log? i'm not quite sure what you mean
@adilson for sysupgrade you can use the command-line (it's pretty simple... copy/ftp/scp the "sysupgrade" file to your router and then run sysupgrade with the filename as an argument). if that's not clear, you can also install luci and use the luci interface to "upgrade" your system (again, to the same version). the goal is just to shuffle the bits around the disk.

I used the "initramfs" file and successfully installed openwrt on mi pro, but upon reboot the device immediately reverted to the stock firmware. After installing the "initramfs" file, do I need to install the "sysupgrade" or "factory" firmware?
I did the following:
Access ssh then use the command:
nvram set flag_try_sys1_failed = 1
nvram set flag_try_sys2_failed = 0
nvram set flag_boot_success = 0
nvram commit
Next I used the usb to install the "initramfs" file using tftp.
The installation was successful, I then used the sysupgrade file to update from Luci but my device got bricked and blinked in a yellow light

Not an error, actually. Message just states you already have an existing config file (/etc/config/samba4). If you don't need existing one just delete it and move /etc/config/samba4-opkg to /etc/config/samba4 to use config provided with package.
But if your existing config it tailored to your needs you're probably don't need to start over 
So, just ignore this "error" message.

Unfortunately the quality of wifi with Openwrt was terrible! 
Mostly the 2.4G radio that is continuously having disconnects.
With the original ROM, the signal was strong, steady and extremely fast, it's looking like my old TP-Link router ...
Do I need to make any specific configuration to work the same or better than the original ROM?
that's strange. check your log. it might give you more information.
You might have problems with 2.4GHz WiFi if you have a USB3 drive connected. In this case, try to disconnect it and check if anything will change.
I am don't using USB right now. This is not the problem.

i remember seeing this a while ago (during "development")... check what's connected to "port 3" of your router (in the back) -- possibly your uplink? the cable might be bad. OR you might already have a device on your lan with the IP address 192.168.1.1 (which is the default for openwrt)... stok xiaomi uses 192.168.31.1 so there wouldn't be an IP address conflict there.
might be that.
hm. what happens if you wait more? maybe something in the settings? try resetting to factory defaults if everything looks sane and you're still baffled. also, try the output of logread... that might say something extra... ALSO there might be stuff in the log that don't look relevant to you but actually might be important. so in general it's a good idea to upload the entire log (through pastebin or something if you don't want to clutter the post too much)...
I did resetting to factory defaults, but the problem with 2.4G is the same! The bad connexion ando continuo disconnect..

I have connected a UART and is able to flash the openWRT firmware. I can SSH and perform commands. However, I am unable to sysupgrade. I tried several methods - the most I could do was sysupgrade -F file.bin and it reboots into the same loop. Here is the log:
