[SOLVED] No internet access after setting router up as repeater/extender

So, I followed the guide "Wi-Fi Extender/Repeater with STA (client) link to upstream AP (Hotspot)" and in the first script entrered my upstream router's SSID, set the encryption type to "WPA2-PSK" and entered the password (double checked). After saving this and multiple restarts, I still have no internet access. Did I miss something? I want the repeater to be accessible over 2.4G only and the connection to the upstream router to be 5G, so I have only radio1 enabled. I tried enabling radio0 too but that did nothing. If there's a better way to set up a repeater that doesn't require changes on the upstream router, as that one doesn't support OpenWRT and it's stock firmware is pretty limited, please tell me.

Additional info: I'm trying to repeat my o2 HomeSpot 2 (RTL0082VW) using a NETGEAR EX6120.

The guide you used does not strictly repeat the network... it sets up a routed downstream network.

  • Do you have the option to use a wired connection?
  • is your intent to make a seamless repeater that is a single network?

If you cannot use a wired connection, you'll need to use relayd.

Yeah you see I've never done this before and it's obvious. Thank you, I'll try using relayd. Only reason I didn't is because the website told me to avoid it

I got it working and it's working just as I wanted it to, thanks!

Wonderful!
