[SOLVED]Is anybody there who can help me?

I'd like to flash openwrt 23 or later version. but my router is very old
Zio Bless and it has 14.07 openwrt

Somebody sent me the information regarging the 19.07 and currently I'm using 19.07 to develop captive portal so that I can control access points with ID & Password access and trace their internet usage.

However, I always met a trouble during authenticate and fail (trouble with luci or other reason, no splash page appears and directly connect to web.)

Is there any way to upgrade 19.07 to latest or higher version so I can install next version of opennds? or other captive portal tools?

This device is not supported by the official OpenWrt project.

It is likely that the device is using an OpenWrt fork created by the vendor, and not anything that originated from the actual OpenWrt project. That said, if it was forked from 14.07, you're talking about a fork using truly ancient code -- that's a release from nearly 11 years ago.

19.07 has been EOL and unsupported for several years -- the final release of that series was 3 years ago. In that time, there have been discoveries of many significant security vulnerabilities and it is not safe to use this version anymore.

You should not be using an old version as a platform for development. Instead, 24.10 (the latest) would be a much better choice.

That said, your device is not supported by any official version of OpenWrt, so you really need to look at a properly supported hardware platform/device so that you can use the official OpenWrt firmware in the first place.

Try cudy or glinet for your once in a decade refresh

My mistake.

The machine is in the TOH at Openwrt page

So it is the Freezio model? Not the "Bless"?

In that case, obviously you can run the latest OpenWrt. And especially given that fact, you should be working with 24.10 in general and also for your development work.

Keep in mind that this device has 16MB flash + 128MB RAM. That's sufficient for lots of things, but it can quickly become a limitation if you start running larger/heavier services.

It is supported since v21 of official OpenWrt.
Install instructions are simplest possible.

Just make backup of any file you changed because configurations are not compatible and you will have to re-enter all changes you made in OEM Fw

I tried, but already 2 of 5 routers were gone to brick..I'm worried making more bricks...

if you're building a house, bricks are good, if you need routers, they're bad.

how do you know they're bricked ?

Hi frollic! Nice to hear you again.

Did u remember that I was middle of the Ocean and I flashed 24.10 to router and it connects 8 seconds and off and it loops?

I got a vacation and at the moment, I'm at the land. I might need ch340g which is mentioned at another talk.

yeah, I think that's how far we got in the old thread ...

Something is not adding up, the FREEZIO was first supported in 21.02.0...
If you're working with something running 14.07 and trying to flash that image, no wonder you're bricking.
Please slow down and figure out exactly what you're working with and what it's running before doing anything else.
Edit: Even the W2914NS, which apparently FreeZIO can run the images of, wasn't supported until 17.01.0.

stock fw ?

First, Freezio was used with maker's firmware. so, I flashed [ZIO_FREEZIO_V1.0.1d.bin] to change from v1.0.0 after that, there was a menu that I can turn into openwrt and after I click, it turned to 14.07. Finally, I flashed [openwrt-19.07.7-ramips-mt7621-w2914nsv2-squashfs-sysupgrade] and I could run 19.07.7

Is there another way to upgrade to 21.02?

I followed below website, but not ch340g to ttl but 19.07

Is this OKay to flash 24.10 to ZIO-FREEZIO???

Please post an image of the info panel for your device - that is usually a sticker on the bottom that has the model information.

Let’s also see what you get when you issue this command inside an ssh session

ubus call system board

Thanks for your reply....T-T I need help.....

No...

Your device obviously not that model. It very clearly states that it is a WeVo W2914NS v2.
Does this conflict with the physical label on your device (please post a picture if it does)

Wow, I flashed SNAPSHOT version!!!! it's fantastic!!!!!

Are you sure you want snapshot? Typically using a stable release build is preferable.
