OpenWrt 19.07.5 service release

TP-Link Archer A7 v5 AP updated from 19.07.4. Appears to be working fine.
Fresh install on a new $29.99 TP-Link Archer A7 v5.6 [Says so on the label] pending.
Upgrade of TP-Link Archer C2600 from 18.06.8 also pending.
Thanks, devs.

Also now running on Linksys EA8300...

Thank you for this release. Now xiaomi mi router 4a 100m runs without connection dropping and unexpected rebooting.

/usr/lib/lua/luci/util.lua:221: attempt to get length of local 'str' (a nil value)
stack traceback:

After upgrade from 19.07.4 when opening luci statistics -> any graph it shows error like this.

is there change in the way it behave? I use imagebuilder then upgrade with modules like luci-app-statistics preinstalled. Other modules includes collectd-mod-sqm and collectd-mod-uptime

edit : I removed all instances of collectd and luci-app-statistics including removing all config files related and previous logdata then reinstall both modules, now seems work fine although I don't know what cause the error in the first place.

I've upgraded successfully from 19.07.3 to .5; There were memory leaks on the TP Link C20 V4 when it comes to 19.07.4.

Thanks for the update, devs!

Frequent lockups with 19.07.5 on TP-Link TL-WDR4900 (N900).
I'll downgrade to 19.07.4 to confirm.

Cheers,

Tim.

Some error on the sysupgrade for Netgear WNDR3700V2? Gets this warning:

Image metadata not found Use sysupgrade -F to override this check when downgrading or flashing to vendor firmware Image check failed.
The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.

I choose to cancel, as I don't know the implications of a forced sysupgrade.
SHA256 seems to be OK.

Best regads,

Runs great on all three devices. I guess the message on the WR1043ND is caused by the slow CPU and I don't bother. Thank you for the hard work.

Upgrading from 19.07.4

I upgraded my WRT1900ACS from 19.07.4 to 19.07.5 keeping the config.

No issues.

The wndr3700v2 has two targets available.
1)ar71xx
2)ath79

If you switch target when upgrading you will get that error.

You can check current target with.
grep TARGET /etc/openwrt_release

Have a look at this guide

I have the WRT1900acs V2. I upgraded using the 19.07.5 bin file first and untick keep settings, reboot. Then flashed the upgrade file. It didn't like my backup config from the previous openwrt firmware. So I done a full reset and manually configured my router, and now it all works well. Thank you for the update, keep up the good work guys.

  • Netgear R7800, sysupgraded maintaining config 19.07.4 → 19.07.5. Previously under 19.07.4 had the occasional reboot (~ 1/month) but otherwise smooth. We'll see how it goes under .5.

  • Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H (10 year old hardware, yeah!) fresh install using TFTP, 18.06.8/ar71xx → 19.07.5/ath79 with manual reconfiguration afterwards.

Both running smoothly. Many thanks devs for the great work!

Upgraded a TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 v5 from 19.07.4 via LuCI.

Having a strange issue where changing the WiFi password changes the admin login password and vice versa. I don't think this happened with 19.07.4. Anyone else seen something similar to this?

EDIT: Just did a bit more debugging, this issue was user error.

works fine now, no longer getting those timeout error with mediatek though I have minor issue once I flashed the firmware from .4 to .5 which throws a luci error relating rdcp not running properly at startup, but that was fixed by just backing up your configuration, factory reset it and restore your configuration.

and do Im still with the 19.07.3 with 3200, do you know if the kernel, wireguard and open vpn are updated ?
thanks

Yes, the 19.07.4 TARGET was 'ath97/generic'. So after downloading from releases/19.07.5/targets/ath79/generic/ the upload and flashing had no problem.

I can't remember to have made a transition from ar71 to ath79 any time, always using the default version from the table of hardware. Maybe I klicked on a wrong link last time (and did it 2 times)?

Thanks so much for your help, @mbo2o
