Netgear R7800 Fails each reboot and lan issues

You cannot restore across models. But you can take the configuration details (like pppoe and the associated credentials or dhcp or static ip) and apply them manually.

OK thanks, is there a good way to copy all of it down with ssh? as in say into a text file?

You can just generate a backup from luci. Then open that backup file in winrar or 7zip. Then just copy/paste the relevant portions.

Prefect thanks. Also is it A known thing that managed frame protection fails if enabled on the E4200V2?

Should I report it as a bug? And I'll report back when I get the r7800 up and running.

With everything I've done It seems my issues were all causes by the ONT not acting right. What I had to do to get it working makes less then no sense but it worked. on top of other things, half way through I reconnected my old router with the mac of the ASUS router I replaced, then after a reset forgot that and connected with its stock mac (the e4200) and it having been whitelisted years ago (and not used in like 5 years) it connected, but in doing so it blacklisted the mac of the ASUS, so I ended up setting openwrt up with the mac address of the e4200, and it worked just changing that one thing. And before I accidentally blacklisted the ASUS mac by using the e4200 mac, before I even found my e4200 I used the ASUS mac address and it didn't work. what could possibly cause this behavior? This makes no sense automatic ip for both, both times with a whitelisted mac and only one dose it work. Something doesn't add up to me.
