I was reading this article and happened to notice that the TFTP instructions provided in the wiki do not work on Mac OS because the native TFTP utility there has a different syntax β so it might be helpful to perform a global search & replace on the wiki to include the Mac method and clarify the difference:
tftp
tftp> connect 192.168.1.1
tftp> mode binary
tftp> put factory.img
While a single-line alternative has been mentioned in the forum here, the information is outdated, as there is now some inconsistency in the syntax of this command between different Mac OS versions, as indicated on the current 'man'
page:
DESCRIPTION
The optional -e argument sets the blocksize to the largest supported
value and enables the TFTP timeout option as if the tout command had been
given. In previous versions of tftp, it also enabled binary mode and the
TFTP blksize option; these are now on by default.
I would also point out that the latter forum topic was improperly locked, which prevents the thread from being updated with the current and correct information... so I would also recommend that the automatic locking of topics should be disabled because it tends to pollute the forum with duplicate topics & conflicting information.
