Hi Guys,
I have installed OpenWRT on Zotac CI325 and have been successful so far. Im trying to run Intel AC 3165 in AP mode. Its showing no tx power. I have read around that there is no chance for it to run in AP mode, if it is so then i wont waste time.
Thanks very much
that's the correct conclusion, intel and AP is a bad combo.

Thanks mate. Much appreciated.

You can check with iw list
if there is any AP support in any band. mt76 much better as ap.
Thanks for your reply, iw list shows AP mode is available....

You need to associate to show bandwidth.
Can you please tell me how to do that..thanks mate
I cannot see it broadcasting it’s ssid, I thought that’s because tx is 0, correct me if I’m wrong please. Even before I connect any client dbm will show some power?

Thanks, tried all combinations from your link. none worked, rebooted few times too.

Try to set country code via cli ( obviously use your country code)
iw reg set ES
iw list | less
radio firmware accumulates restrictions, you need to power it off ro start a new channel change.
Thanks mate, no luck still.

So the essence of issue is that particular adapter does not permit setting regulatory parameters preventing use as AP except 2.4ghz?
you won't get the no IR removed by just setting the country code
only Intel can say why they actually want it like this
L.E.:
https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi
AP mode on 2.4GHz (on devices driven by iwlmvm, note no 5GHz AP support due to LAR )

2.4GHz doesnt work either.

lograd -e hostap
while restarting radio et to 2.4 ghz ch 1-11
the capability bits indicate AP mode is available, then second later regulatory mask is not applied.
Try openwrt snapshot like from usb stick
iw reg set AU
iw list | less
to check regulatory setting is applied.
