Yeah, fortunately this is just a temporary router 'til we move and it doesn't need much range.
Thanks for checking. I'm satisfied with the current AC-mode setup. Performance is more than acceptable for my purposes, and range will be fine 'til we've moved permanently.
I just found it frustrating that I couldn't get everything set up and working automatically from just the LuCI interface. I kept thinking it was something I was doing wrong, or not doing at all. But it appears that, at least on the Pi, that last little step of ifup lan
is needed to really get it going automagically upon reboot, and that requires some CLI work in /etc/rc.local. Even odder that it didn't seem to be needed in N or Legacy modes, just in AC.
