I am really glad to have solved the problem. This would not have been possible without all of your help. This community is awesome. Everyone is very helpful here. Surely you all deserve praise. Thanks again to everyone. May you all always be blessed.

Fantastic. So booted using initramfs and then did a sysupgrade from the shell. All using the custom images from wopo @ https://github.com/ThranduilII/openwrt/files/11399622/Openwrt-22.03.5-X5000R-Zbit-support.zip

Keep in mind that you won't be able to use any regular images until support for your memory chip reaches openwrt proper.

Pleased it's sorted :ok_hand:

If your problem is solved, please consider marking this topic as [Solved]. See How to mark a topic as [Solved] for a short how-to.
Thanks!

Perhaps there should be a warning, on the X5000R wiki page ?

That makes sense. Do you have a wiki account? I don't

I do,

got a suggestion on what to write ?

Something like

The manufacturer have started to use a new flash chip, Zbit Semiconductor part #ZB25VQ128ASIG. This isn't currently supported by openwrt. There isn't currently an issue open on GitHub. Images supporting the new chip can be found here.

Please check your flash chip before flashing openwrt.

You will see the following message on the console if you have an unsupported chip

[ 4.325094] spi-nor spi0.0: unrecognized JEDEC id bytes: 5e 40 18 5e 40 18
[ 4.331987] spi-nor: probe of spi0.0 failed with error -2

OP provided a picture of the flash chip too

I'm not sure if you could just flash sysupgrade directly as per the wiki. The op flashed the initramfs by mistake.

Also I suspect that you could use the recovery mode in the bootloader to recover without a serial connection.

is, or isn't ?

@d687r02j8g @frollic bro..My router was working fine for a day. Then it suddenly turned off. :sob: Now it won't turn on. The power light doesn't come on when I connect the power cord. Maybe it's completely dead.I don't know if there is any way to fix it. If I have to buy a new router, which router should I buy (under 50$)to use openwrt?/

Leave out the router first, you could first begin checking your power adapter's voltage condition via a volt meter. See if the output voltage of the adapter (edit:reaching) the value as it's claimed to be.

@frollic @Ethereal @d687r02j8g bro,, the power adapter is fine. I think the router is broken. How about "Asus RT-AX53U AX1800" for openwrt firmware? It would be helpful to know if there is any problem to install openwrt official firmware on it and if there is any better option in this price range please suggest me.
Since I will buy from Bangladesh, I have given the link of the website below so that you can see if my selected router is correct or not.

Thanks in advance.

Post this question under [Hardware Questions and Recommendations] category, I bet your question would get more exposed.

I am just a novice and casual OpenWrt user, I can only vouch for the router that I own only. For your information, my ASUS RT-AC1300uhp and TOTOLINK X5000R are running smoothly and well with OpenWrt till today.

As for your presumed dead TOTOLINK X5000R, have you try factory rst/wps button approach? Regardless with no LED light, turn on the power, press the rst/wps button for ~100sec.(just to be on the sure side), then release it. You may see or may not see the LED flashing, either way check any output form your serial connection or ipconfig or ping result. Trying to beat the dead horse before you using volt meter again checking on the resistors...etc.. But, that's is another story...and it's way more easy to return the item for a new one with warranty at hands!

Lastly, please notice that "This topic has been solved." , "If you have an unrelated issue, please start a new topic instead"

ok.got it.thanks bro.
