GL-MT300N-V2 LAN IP question

Hi everyone,
I am particularly addressing owners of the GL-MT300N-V2 wan router.
I would like to purchase this router but I have a doubt about the custom setting of the LAN IP.
I absolutely need to set an IP from the 192.0.0.x series, but from the instructions it seems it is only possible to set one IP among the following 192.168.x.x , 172.x(16-31).x.x , or 10.x.x.x.
that's it? Or is there the possibility to set the IP to 192.0.0.x?
I thank you in advance for the kind support you wish to offer me.

If you are running the GL-inet fork, I cannot say -- that is a question for them.

But, when you run official OpenWrt, yes it is possible.
That said, it's a bad idea in most cases to run NAT router with lan IP addresses other than the RFC1918 ranges, but it is physically possible. This will cause you problems if your device is internet connected, but can work just fine if you're doing a lab network that is air-gapped from the internet.

To be very clear, the 192.0.0.x address space is not yours (it is reserved and used for DS-Lite deployments), trying to use it will cause problems for you (maybe subtle at first, but it will happen) - it really mustn't be used.

But yes, OpenWrt does not prevent you from using any valid IP range, but the resulting problems are yours to keep.

If you really, really, really must avoid all RFC1918 ranges for some reason, at least choose something less likely to cause issues - e.g. the dedicated documentation ranges TEST-NET-1, TEST-NET-2 or TEST-NET-3 might fit that description; still not a great idea, technically speaking still 'wrong', but not stomping over valid address space of your uplink connection.

Hi,
Thank you all for your kind replies, they were very clarifying and eliminated all my doubts.
I will do my best to change the IP of devices to be connected within RFC1918 range.
Thanks again and see you soon.

you're welcome.
