D-Link DIR-853 R1 won't work after power off

Hi,
I downloaded relase snapshot.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. going to recovery mode
  2. Install openwrt from file downloaded from link1
  3. install luci (after update package)
  4. configure router (wifi 2,4 and 5 for a test purpose only)
  5. power off (button or ac)

After power on: blinks only power led and lan led (connected host), can't ssh, can't use luci, no responds. restart (many :wink: ) didn't solve porblem.

you need a factory image:

vendor firmware -> OpenWRT: factory image
OpenWRT -> newer OpenWRT: sysupgrade image
when in D-link emergency room: always use factory image, regardless of what the previous image was

do again with

Ok, ill try.
But i have one more question: No matter that i have R1 verison of dir-853?

Looks like R1 didnt have factory image

ERROR - the image you uploaded failed to pass verification.
Please make sure to use an official update.

I think, i need to wait to stable release.

sorry, i did miss the R1 vs A3 and that your device seems still in heavy development.

R1 seems only mentioned here a bit: DLink DIR-853 A3. That thread mentions at the end that the A3 master images were broken the recent days - maybe this also applies for your R1. I would keep an eye on that thread to stay up to date with development.

Overall your R1 seems to be the friendlier variant since it has the recovery boot loader by default, so unlimited retry attempts for you without bricking it.

You might also try flashing newer snapshots again in a few weeks, once built images are sane again. Or ask in the other thread, if A3 and R1 images are still known to be broken.
