Converting GL-MT6000 Flint 2 from CN to Global

Hi I just bought this router from a third party seller outside China and then I realized that the router is running on Chinese firmware and lacks some functions. I know there are ways to convert its region from CN to global but you can't ask for that on gl.inet official forum. I find this method for MT3000 router but there was nothing about GL-MT6000. can anyone help me?

Converting GL.iNet MT3000 (Beryl AX) from CN to Global

Hi, I recently purchased a MT3000 (Beryl AX) from Taobao, and realized the VPN and Adguard features were unavailable due to the router having CN version. According to the instructions shared in their forum for the MT2500 (before it got deleted by admin), I can change the CN flag to US in the bootloader located in /dev/mmcblk0boot1. However after SSH into the router, I don't see such file in dev. Does anyone know any other way? Thanks in advance!

If you are flashing to official OpenWrt firmware, you can flash without problem and use whatever function you need no matter it's China or International version.

If your intention is not using official OpenWrt firmware, then unfortunately here isn't a very good place to discuss.

I just did on GL-MT6000:

echo "US" |dd of=/dev/mmcblk0p2 bs=1 seek=136
sync
reboot

works fine
