Client wireless not associating

I have a Linksys 1900ACS which has 2 wireless radios. I want to use one radio to connect to a public wifi network and use the other for my private wireless network. The public wifi network has internet access so I'd like to route between them, with NAT.

My problem is that when I attempt to set up a "Client" connection the radio never associates with the public network.

If I use a "Client (WDS)" connection, it associates but doesn't get a DHCP address assigned from the public Wifi. I don't want a WDS system since I want to route and use NAT between my private network and the public network.

Any ideas why the "Client" network won't associate but the "Client (WDS)" connection will?

Problem solved. Had to uncheck "Create bridged" and now everything works as needed.
