I have tried to install the 24.10.0 firmware, but now the device is in a reboot loop.
I have tried all recovery options, and was not able to stop the boot loop. None of the OpenWRT and official Asus recovery has worked for me.
A previous sysupgrade from 23 to 24 worked as, the router booted. But I decides to roll back due to some errors and bugs, like high latency an connectivity issues in the wifi and LAN.
On my first try, I had 23 "successful installed", and then upgraded to 24 without bricking the router and got some bugs in latency and packet loss. So I decided to go back to 23 without install the Asus stock firmware.
At the second update, the router updated from 23 to 24 with a .bin firmware image which resulted in a brick.
I have tried to install the Asus recovery tool. A ping to the router was possible. The recovery tool reported a sucessful recovery. After power cycle I am still in a boot loop. Also different tests with OpenWRT (bin and trx) and Asus native firmware gave no difference.
What do you mean with U-Boot?
Do I need to buy a 3,3 Volt serial to USB adapter to get the router back?
I have tried to boot the router in the recovery mode and install the fixed trx.
But, now I get some few pings after the recovery mode started and the Asus recovery tool is not able to connect and upload.
Edit: After set the speed on the PC fixed instead full duplex, I was able to upload the images.
Not any of the fixed images (OpenWRT 23 bin / trx) or OpenWrt 24 trx worked for me. The router still boots in a loop every 10 to 12 seconds.
Found the cleaner in the links offered from remittor and was able to install stock firmware via the cleaner.
After this I was also able to upgrade to 24.10.1.
So far so good...
Sometimes I got a extreme high latency and packet loss again. Had this also before the router was bricked, and decided to go back to 23.
