Zyxel nr7101 external antenna add-on

Hello.

I have NR7101 but i have the following problem:

there are two towers available near me, one 1 km away with only b3+b20 and another 3 km far away with b1+b3+b20+N78. Now in auto mode 7101 aggregates b3+b20 from tower near me and n78 from far tower but n78 have poor RSRP. Sometimes can aggregate B1 from far away tower (-120 rsvp) too. If i turn antenna in direction of 5G tower n78 will be little better (from -103 to -95) but b3 & b20 get very worst.

My idea.. buy one external antenna dedicated to 5G N78 from Kaser with 15dbi gain, connect it on 7101 board, leave 7101 pointed to 4g site and external antenna 5g pointed to 5G site.

My question is:

there are 7 antenna ports inside, which two are for 3700 MHz?

Can my idea work?

thanks to all!

I now use a nr7102. This models have 4 connectors on modem + gps. Connected to a 4x4 omni mino antenna.

Hello.
I've read the post, in my case seems from table 47 and 50 that i've to use ant 5 and 7 but i'm not sure.
with the idea of use a n78 band directional antenna, i suspect that i loose mimo un uhb and mhb.

Bmork seems have ideas more clear than me about my doubt.

Thanks!

I have a NR7101 modem.
In my area where I live there is no n78 or any other frequency above 2600.
I have B3, B7, B8, B20, B28 and n28 so......
I replaced all internal antennas with 3 xpol2 v2. 698-2700 mhz.
I also tried an xpol3 but this antenna does not have the same lower band gain as the xpol2.
I shortened all the cables but I haven't fine tuned the antennas yet and haven't fixed the cables.
My DL and UL are much better and more stable now compared to the internal antennas.
First I tested with an xpol2 to Ant 0 and Ant1 and immediately got better values on the low bands but also B3 and B7 improved a little.
With 3 xpol2 I get even better values on these bands as well.
DL has been doubled and UL too, I have 4.4 kilometers to the tower and have DL 400-500 and UL 80-110.
It will be interesting to see the result when the antennas are fine-tuned.
BTW. I have bought used xpol2, 25 euros each because they are no longer available to buy new.

Super cool setup!

Where did you get the used xpols for that price?

@ Swedish Blocket, a market where people sell different things.
I made bids on their antennas for sale and they accept it.
None in Sweden buy 4g antennas, all people buy 5g antennas without knowing if they need them or not.

Found this valuable info (NR7101).

So how do i connect 3 mimo antennas?

ANT0 + ANT1
ANT4 + ANT5
ANT6 + ANT7

Or what?

It seems all connectors works with LTE expect ANT2 and ANT3 which not in use, i have read people guessing a lot about this.
