I cant find how to set up modem , i found modemmanager
opkg install luci-proto-modemmanager
@smereka is your NR7101 working again? If so, I wonder whether you might consider changing the thread title to something less tragic.
It's been working like this for almost a year, although I had to do a lot of things to revive it. I don't even remember what in order but now I dare say that it is one of the better 5G routers on openwrt, which I can manage by sending it sms and many other functions. What title should I change to and how do I do it at all?
I use an NR7101 and love it. How do you manage automatic reconnections following an ISP-disconnect? Are you using ModemManager? Because automatic reconnection on that is unfortunately broken at the moment - see:
Regarding title, if you were to scroll up to the top of this thread then next to the title there should be an edit button. Look it's entirely up to you whether to change, but I fear the word 'bricked' gives bad publicity in that individuals may see it as an OpenWrt failure rather than the OpenWrt success story that it actually is. So it might be beneficial to change the 'bricked?' to 'challenges'. But it's only a suggestion! As the original poster you hold the keys.
I don't use the modem manager because it's hard to connect when it do shit (disconnect). I use qmi and it works. Ping script and at+cfun=1,1 ifdown and ifup and fire works great
That's still a dirty hack though . I suppose the auto-reconnect option of qmi doesn't work?
using ifdown ifup alone does not work for orange and plus operator in Poland. That's why I have to restart the entire modem bus and then it works. In general, I had to patent a lot of things myself because I have the impression that either they are not emphasized by the openwrt community or they just prefer to physically turn off and on the device, which in my case is unacceptable. There is supposed to be total automation, not that I have to watch if it works or not. I discussed a lot of things somewhere on the openwrt forum but no response so I managed it myself with the help of friends from the Polish openwrt rofum.Same as looking at signal parameters. A friend of IceG made a great package and on this zyxelik it works great, although without the level of the 5G signal, but we are working on this issue and maybe someday something will come out of it
