ZBT WE826-32M - need help to configure cellular modem (displays "no internet access" when connected)

I will try that and see but I have no idea on building my own image, if there is a link about how to do that help me with it.

You are missing something.

Thank you, I now have internet access in the through this. I have installed some packages suggested to me but some drivers are still not present. I have shown the output of cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices.

kmod-usb-net-cdc-ether has already been installed.

then it should be visible here:

Please run dmesg | grep cdc_ether

root@OpenWrt:~# run dmesg | grep cdc_ether
-ash: run: not found

Just ''dmesg | grep cdc_ether" . Without the "run". As I am interfering here anyway, then some more info: I think, that several years ago, in ancient times, I also used the Huawei MU609, during the times of UMTS etc. And it was a very reliable modem. However, I always used it for '3g' with PPP. Which also allowed some logging/debugging. Never tried the MU609 with one of the more sophisticated methods, which have an advantage (?) only for higher speeds.

 dmesg | grep cdc_ether
[ 20.091055] cdc_ether 1-1.2:2.0 eth1: register 'cdc_ether' at usb-101c0000.eh ci-1.2, CDC Ethernet Device, 00:a0:c6:10:05:70
[ 20.102841] usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_ether
[ 25.118090] cdc_ether 1-1.2:2.0 eth1: unregister 'cdc_ether' usb-101c0000.ehc i-1.2, CDC Ethernet Device

That looks good, except it should not have unregistered. Look at the whole unfiltered log to see what may have happened.

If you change the wan Device to eth1 it should start using the 3G modem for Internet. This is called an "Ethernet modem" since it appears to the OS as a virtual Ethernet port. Configuration of the cell connection (if necessary) is usually done out of band on a serial port.

ok, I will try that soon.

Since cdc_ether is not loaded you do not have a data interface to work with (like eth1, etc.).
What you can try is to switch the modem from USB cfg#2 to cfg#1 and see if qmi_wwan driver will be able to acquire an interface. You will need to install kmod-usb-net-qmi-wwan.
Manual switching:

echo 0 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1.2/bConfigurationValue
echo 1 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1.2/bConfigurationValue

Then re-read cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices

 cat /sys/kernel/debug/usb/devices

Great, now install the missing packages and configure the interface as shown here:
https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/wwan/ltedongle

Please what are the missing packages?

Actually, you need to install luci-proto-qmi only, the rest will be added automatically.

After each device reboot, it switches back to this mode again. Should I install "usb-modeswitch"?

Also, I have seen new protocols installed (QMI cellular and NCM)on my device but no new device.

The manual USB configuration switching is a temporary solution. You need to create a QMI interface in Luci and make sure it works.
If it works, you can install usb-modeswitch and see if it can perform the same switching.

I still couldn't get connection after switching the modem manually to QMI, interface for QMI has been created in Luci though. I tried to do a permanent switching using usb-modeswitch, picocon(AT command) but all didn't work. Is there any other solution?
