Zbt 1608 16mb with fibocom l860 new OpenWrt w/o internet modem

I have installed a FIBOCOM l860 in a ZBT 1608 16m router through the m.2 slot in the router. The device works with rooter and connects to the internet but I loose some package install options. I installed the latest OpenWRT from here

But the usb modem and m.2 modem is not supported in the OpenWRT for this model without installing the packages that enable the functionality. The internet connection available to me is LTE and there is no way to connect it to the routers WAN port. Is there a way to install OpenWRT packages in this situation? Does someone else have the same hardware setup that can share the firmware with modem functionality?

Just add the packages to the image before flashing.

See: https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=22.03.3&target=ramips%2Fmt7621&id=zbtlink_zbt-wg1608-16m

Does anyone know which packages should be installed to enable the sim and m.2 hardware? The modem is using a NCM connection. Here is the connection log and modem log file. The device worked fine until a new sim card was put into the device. The device then worked for 20 minutes and then stopped and returns the sim card pin error. On occasion there is an unable to connect error then the modem is no longer detected. The version currently being used in Rooter with golden orb but I want to make a OPEN WRT firmware without the Golden Orb or ROOter modifications.

When I try to install an Openwrt firmware with the custom installed packages from here [[OpenWrt Wiki] How to use LTE modem in QMI mode for WAN connection] (https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wan/wwan/ltedongle) there is a error that the connection is refused when trying to access the 192.168.1.1 page when using an lan connection and wifi does not function at all.

When re-flashing to a firmware without the modem packages found here OpenWrt Firmware Selector the 192.168.1.1 page is accessible.

What could be causing the 192.168.1.1 page to become inaccessible when the modem packages are installed and to function normally when the modem packages are not included?

Anyone with this same router with the packages for the modem and sim function that can provide a functioning firmware let me know.

Hi! JACOBELIGOODSON, i writed simple protocol handler for Intel NCM modem's, similiar qmi or ncm original. You can test it on your device.
Add custom repo and install luci-proto-xmm package or xmm-modem if your device don't have webUI.
How add my custom repo.

hi, I have the L860 working with an M.2 to USB connection, connected to a ROOter firmware on a Raspberry Pi.

What helped me to get it working is to follow the steps explained by radenku.com.

First make sure you have updated the L860 firmware to the latest. Radenku.com has the instructions for it how to do it.

Good luck!

That is unrelated to OpenWrt.
Try flashing under Linux.
