Is there any plans to support this device? Seems like IPQ4019 SoC is supported already, dunno bout radios, but this device looks promising.
Specs:

2x2 MU-MIMO 2.4&5
3 Ethernet ports, homeplug av

But about 180 $ is also promising
As a side note, i don´t know any openwrt supporded device that has power line (homeplug av).
Did you consider the Linksys EA8300, which offers three radios and is already supported?
Aside from powerline support (which is not going to be possible), the Xiaomi mesh router might be supportable, but it depends hugely on the details (and the recent trend (mir3g --> mir3gv2) to lock their devices down wouldn't instill we with much hope for it to be easy).
For two devices, but can be purchased separately, ive seen some lots @ aliexpress
i don't care about homeplug tbh
more than twice as expensive and looks aweful
Not quite twice as much (at least not locally), but fully supported - right now. But all the power to you, if you get it working on the xiaomi d01 (you will have to say bye to powerline/ home av though).
Duno, it takes a lot of time
Ive recieved one today (paid about 90$)
Will check how it works with stock and teared it down also
Some hw porn here
UPD.
bootlog https://pastebin.com/raw/ZTk5Lrsu
Probably the powerline feature is completely independent implement like two devices in one, then we have a chance to run openwrt with powerline.
This lock will also become harder with nand devices, because desoldering/programming is nothing for non (hobby) electric engineer.
Then the price is almost ok.
Keep us updated
I found pcb have a place for spi flash, it also trying to detect spi nor at least inside uboot. Probably it will help somekind, cuz serial transmit to board does not work. Unfortunately i dont have nand flasher and im not sure i need to buy one but i will think about. But soldering/desoldering is not a problem for me.
It seems that the boot process with fit images does not use signature verification.
So we can create our own fit images.
Do you can interrupt the boot process in the bootloader?
If yes, can you post the available commands of the bootloader shell?
Saw this too, that the bl tries spi flash and the empty place on the mb with a nor flash footprint.
That would be good for testing or alternate booting.
Desoldering, flashing and resoldering bga nand is always at some risk.
yes, with reset button pressed at boot it starting some kind of update process, initin switch and trying to get dhcp
luckily its not bga here
Also ive checked tp1 jumper, seems like its a hw reset, one pin pulled up with 47k and 2nd pulled down with 470r, probably its connected to dcdc EN pin
Ive got buttons logic
With reset presed at boot for ~20s it resets settings
With big button you can reboot it (5s press)
If you will hold both big and reset, for ~15s it will try to recover from ethernet
Its trying to recover from TFTP

Hah, ive tried to push original image ive downloaded from official site, but it said
Invalid signature
Header check error!
UPD. False alert, it's fine, file was really broken)))
fw recovery log
Looks like this isn´t useable for custom firmware flashing...
But i think there is no signature check on a already flashed image as they are using a fit image (new uImage format) without signature.
So you have to find a way how to interrupt the boot process at the bootloader level or how to get a shell on linux.
Good luck
I can interrupt it only once, at first boot after successful recovery i can enter into uboot shell and run any commands

[ 3.093126] Rebooting in 1 seconds..
Seems promising
There are a lot usefull available commands in uboot
You should try to boot a initram image first... Is a lot easier without persistent storage at the beginning.
yeah, thats what i just have done
seems like i need to start with custom dts file to define partitions at least and build my own initramfs
huh, im a noob in dts stuff but i will try to do smth
upd.
@juppin
i cant make new replies, cuz registered at new board only yesterday, so its limiting my replies count
but i wanna say ive got a working console for the stock rom
Learning something new is always great...
I think here are a lot people that can assist you and you have a lot examples in the source tree.
I would start with a almost clean dts (soc and basic hw like serial) and go step by step for every peace of the device specific hw.
Probably this will be my next device to play with, thanks
For partition layout, you can do it like on the xiaomi mir3g and use only kernel1 for the kernel and merge everything behind into a single ubi partition. But check what the hell "cfg_bak" is and if we can merge it also into "ubi".
