Xiaomi AX3000T - Install Openwrt firmware and U-Boot

Hi everyone, in few days I will receive the Xiaomi AX3000T.

I will install the Openwrt firmware and OpenWrt U-Boot.

I have two questions:

  1. Is it better to first install Openwrt firmware and then U-Boot or, considering that U-Boot should allow (if I understood correctly) to upload an Openwrt firmware, is it better to first install U-Boot and then the Openwrt firmware through U-Boot GUI at router startup?

  2. For the U-Boot installation, in the AX3000T Openwrt page instructions the first command to send is

1. Flash openwrt-mediatek-filogic-xiaomi_mi-router-ax3000t-ubootmod-initramfs-recovery.itb

ubiformat /dev/mtd8 -y -f /tmp/openwrt-mediatek-filogic-xiaomi_mi-router-ax3000t-ubootmod-initramfs-recovery.itb

However, in the Developers section of the forum a user reported that the installation failed ...

and another user reported that

So, what is the correct procedure to follow? I would not want to brick my device.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi, I Will try with .itb image and will see.

What about question 1?

Thanks.

simply follow the guide,.

Just for information for everyone, from the "For Developers" section, thread "OpenWrt support for Xiaomi AX3000T", there is another proof that the installation instructions relevant to U-Boot mod in the wiki are not correct at all ...

I followed the modified guide and installed successfully Openwrt and OpenWrt U-Boot (including recovery boot feature).

Now, how can I test if U-Boot web GUI (for firmware update) is working well? How can I enter it?

Thanks.

No One?

Maybe I should post this question in the Developers section?

bump, I would like to know as well, what does U-Boot with recovery and without recovery imply?

Does this mean without recovery = cannot be recovered using TFTP??
Or does it imply only that recovery cannot be done over U-boot web? Sorry for bumping, but I don't seem to see any updated information regarding the difference between with recovery and without recovery.
