WNDR3700v4 and 5Ghz version 24.10.4 not working

Has anyone got 5Ghz working on 24.10 on the WNDR3700v4 router? I have tried many configurations/combinations. I can get the radio to show up, I can find it on my devices, openwrt even shows devices trying to connect but the negotiaton fails. I am not asking for a fix, simply if anyone has it working. For that reason I won’t paste a novel of info I have tried.

Various searches lead me to believe this is the end of the road for this device and I may have to downgrade to 19.07 until I can replace it.

Yes. Probably a misconfiguration.
Please share your network and wireless files (in /etc/config).

Despite being old it can run 24.10 and will 25.12. Don't expect much of course for this vintage device. I have one and it is used as a spare device for USB tethering.

Please show output of iw phy and maybe dmesg | grep -i ath

I got it. It was a misconsfiguration with the interface not using the bridge.
