Hello everyone,
I stupidly tried the new snapshot builds, moving from the stable 18.06.1. At first everything was all right, the interface was newer and it had more features. But after a while things started going wrong and opkg was saying partition is read only (sign of corruption?). Okay then, I'll do a factory reset. That didn't work. Then I tried to systemupgrade back to 18.06.1. Result - router bricked with blinking power light.
Okay then, I'll do firmware restoration tool. So I ran it and successfully restored to stock firmware!
When in the stick firmware I noticed that the unique wifi network name has changed. Before it was ASUS_38_5G now it's ASUS_03_5G.
I thought hmm the restoration tool might have reset something, no problems, let's install openwrt.
Back in 18.06.1... Wifi tab in luci is gone, and in ssh, iw list, iwinfo, wifi detect, all show nothing.
Did the debricking process screw up the router's unique wifi files? Those config "factory x" partitions probably were touched by firmware recovery.... and I did not have any backup of them.... 
Is the wireless forever gone on my poor ac58u?
Edit: After restoring again to stock, wifi works in the stock firmware.
Edit2: The wifi speeds are now bad in the stock firmware, download is capped to 50mbps. So yeah, wifi's forever screwed. I'll probably sell the router while I still can...
