Wi-Fi repeater not working after enabling Wi-Fi security

Hello,

I would like to use OpenWrt as a Wi-Fi repeater and have followed the guide at https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/relay_configuration . The repeater appears to work fine when the Wi-Fi security of the repeater is disabled, i.e. encryption is set to none. However, once the encryption of the repeater Wi-Fi is set to WPA2 PSK, the repeater stops working -- a client can connect but doesn't seem to get an ip address from main router's DHCP server. Any help would be appreciated.

I am using OpenWrt 18.06.5 on a Xiaomi Mi WiFi Mini.

Hey, did you solve this issue? If yes, could you please tell me what was the problem and how did you fix it?

I've exactly the same problem now and I can't figure out why just setting up a password would prevent devices to get internet... Makes no sense to me

Thanks for your answer
