What exactly is MBO for?

Hostapd got some interesting patches adding Multi Band Operation aka Agile Multiband. I can not find any information about the status codes. Further, I don't understand what is the difference/improvement to 802.11v bss transition? I guess it is bss-transistion-request with a reason code (why should that help)? Can someone provide more information?

You could think of it a a collection of standards with a bit enhancement.
These are part of MBO:
802.11k, 802.11v, and 802.11u

So if you certify a device for MBO at the WiFi Alliance, all these substandard are also certified. So that's a good thing. Just have this bunch of devices in mind which don't care about WiFi standards.
