I have two Ubiquiti devices (NanoBeam AC GEN2 and LiteBeam AC GEN2), so i rollback first the firmware to WA v8.7.4 of NanoBeam. After a while, i finally installed OpenWRT with image factory.bin of v24.10.0 but... appears 2 problems:
1- If reboot the device, config is not persistent.
2- If try an update, no success and still remain the same version (v24.10.0)
Any suggests? At least for point 1. Thanks! And sorry for my English.
Version 24 has a bug which prevents OpenWrt from being able to write anything to flash on these models (most if not all of the Ubiquiti CPEs). Use the latest version 23; early version 23 also had the bug which was fixed once then re-introduced for 24.
Since OpenWrt cannot write anything to flash including new firmware, and the bootloader TFTP recovery process requires Ubiquiti signed firmware, you will need to TFTP recover back to stock then repeat the OpenWrt installation process.
I have up the device in the root... TFTP recover needs physical access to antenna? Thanks for reply, anyway. And, which exact version of firmware is fully operational?
I separately discovered this same issue with 24.10.1.
I was able to recover with WA v8.7.0 before flashing the 23.05.5 factory version. A subsequent flash of 23.05.5 sysupgrade is successfully working. Hopefully a proper fix for version 24 is possible.
