Wanted, a VERIFIED no noise, 12V/2A power adapter

Hello,

Can anyone provide a link to a CLEAN, NO AC line noise, 12V/2A adapter, that is available in the US?

Story...

I bought my BPI-R3 kit on Amazon US.
The included power supply is VERY dirty!
I have found this out by using the same AC circuit as my clock radio.
There is MASSIVE noise when the BPI-R3 power supply is plugged in.

I confirmed this from additional testing.

Using another adapter from an external WD HDD, which was shucked for the HDD usage in my NAS, there is NO noise.

CONFIRMED: the supplied AC power adapter for the Amazon US BPI-R3 kit is BAD!
It leaks massive noise on the AC line.

Just received another power adapter from a different Amazon US seller.
Guess what, it is crap also, MASSIVE AC line.
Also chinese made.
All the while the adapter from the WD external USB HDD works great, clean, NO AC line noise.
The only ‘problem’ using the WD power adapter is it is only 1.5 amps, shrug,
I guess that would be a factor if I also used the radios, which I currently aren’t using.

Dang it, can’t find a 12V/2A adapter in the house, they are all 12V/1.5A, and seemingly, won’t be able to purchase a KNOWN good unit?

I am betting MANY people are running crap adapters and do not realize it?

I'd probably get an original power adapter from TP-Link, or some other router vendor, off eBay.

Keep in mind the barrel size have to match too.

Practically all adapters are built in China. Some are really cheap crap, others are high quality.

If you want something that is "no noise", you want a good quality linear power adapter. Switching power supplies can be 'relatively' low noise, but all will have some. They shouldn't leak a ton of noise back to the AC mains, though. With the power adapters, you get what you pay for, so generally buying a more expensive model from a known good power supply vendor is a good option.

Chaznon makes good UL power supplies.

There's no such thing as no-noise, even thousand-dollar lab power supply will have a ripple in the spec sheet, the more important thing is how your devices can tolerate them

There actually is... it's called a battery
(nearly zero noise, aside from noise induced from the load's systems).

Batteries also have noise by themself, and you still need a voltage regulator.

I would say that that if you find a psu that actually comes with a meaningful datasheet not full of crap, you have come very far in your search.

I don’t know if Norweigian psu manufacturer called Mascot is availible in US, if they are Iwould look for that name?

A true direct connection to a battery cell (i.e. no regulators) has nearly no noise. Yes, there will naturally be some, but if you were to connect a battery to a resistor+LED, you'd see almost zero ripple.

A LED is almost a normal diod so it is basically a half wave rectifier to start with.

Maybe OP can consider using USB-C PD trigger cable with 12V output, most people have those higher power USB-C power plug at home.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
I have this incoming:

I will have to look this up, sounds good.
