It looks like this is not an official version of OpenWrt... it is entirely possible that the issue is something unique to the version you are using. If you can flash official OpenWrt onto this system, that would be a good start. Otherwise, you should ask the maintainers of this custom version.
The openwrt here is with Qualcomm SDK - qsdk
Right... that is not the same as the official OpenWrt. It is "based on OpenWrt" but highly customized. And as such, may operate differently than the regular OpenWrt and/or it may have bugs that are preventing this from working.
Contact the people who maintain the Qualcomm SDK version for help.
not sure, if I can get hold of the maintainers, but if you can push me in the right direction, I will do ther further research and try to resolve the issue.
I cannot see the DHCP request from the WAN interface, is it firewall or interface setup ? Shall I take tcpdump and check or ...
Maybe reach out to whoever gave you that device.
Things looked okay in the config files. I don't know what is wrong, and I highly suspect it is related to the custom firmware.
In /etc/config/dhcp, the wan section has
config dhcp wan
option interface wan
option ignore 1
The option ignore could be the issue ?
No.
Unless you manage to run genuine OpenWrt on your device and use QSDK instead, please talk to your distributor or QCA representative instead. We can't help you with the QSDK firmware.
Ignore is set properly for that interface. That is not the problem.
You've probably reached a dead-end here... ask for help from the people who provided this system to you (i.e. the manufacturer or other party).
ok, I ill reach out to them ...
