Usefulness of AP bitrate reported in LuCI

In the Wireless Overview screen of LuCI (seen in the attached image), there is an "overall" sort of bitrate displayed for each access point. This differs from the individual Tx/Rx bitrates displayed further down on the page for each individual client. I can understand the usefulness of the client bitrates as a way to isolate potentially issues with individual clients, but I need some help understanding the meaning of the "overall" bitrate for the AP, as well as how it could be useful.

Is it just an average of all bitrates for clients connected to that AP, or does it mean something else? Does it include both Tx/Rx bitrates (because the "overall" rate for the AP doesn't indicate Tx/Rx), or is it just a Tx bitrate?

It simply is the arithmetic average, it has no deeper meaning and likely should be removed completely in ap mode.
