USB WIFI device disappeared after update

How do I associate eth2 with a bridge or interface?

Connect the tplink access point to your switch and it is likely to work immediately without any other config

Click on Network--Interfaces--Devices tab, configure br-lan and add eth2 to the Bridge Ports list.

This is logically the same as @jdwl1o1 said, plugging the AP into the switch on the LAN with eth0. A kernel bridge works like a switch.

I have done that now and rebooted openwrt - the configuration page of the 605x does not seem to be reachable from a device connected via eth1 and it seems I still have no internet access if connected to the extender via WIFI.

Hey, from the above eth1 is configured as your WAN interface, nothing connected there can access anything on your LAN, with is the brlan interface, including eth0.

I found out, that I had to switch the 605x's mode from Extender to Access point. Sadly this is not exactly obvious if you use their app for configuration.
