Hello, I've recently purchased a RTL8822BU based WiFi adapter for use with my raspberry pi and openwrt and it seems to not be functional. I've read somewhere that openwrt has limited compatibility so I was wondering if there's any compatible drivers, and if not what adapters would you recommend

good is relative to your needs which we know not too much about... so only you can be the judge of that...
I mean the post you linked made it out like all wifi adapters for openwrt are garbage, but ideally I'd want close to 100% uptime
As mentioned in that thread, a second router used as an AP is the better solution.
I'm pretty sure the statement's about Realtek drivers, not openwrt/the Linux kernel.
