Unielec U7621- Mediatek MT7621 & MT7612 + MT7602 wifi

I have installed this image (https://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/targets/ramips/mt7621/lede-ramips-mt7621-u7621-06-256M-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin), and referenced this writeup https://github.com/lede-project/source/commit/46ab81e405d238e95071d7d56a0f07bb51fc8cb3, this one https://lede-project.org/toh/hwdata/unielec/unielec_u7621-06, and this one https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/834235/ so far, but need some extra help.

I am unable to get the wifi to broadcast from these two wifi modules (MT7602 2.4Ghz, and MT7612 5Ghz). The wifi modules are confirmed working in the supplied pandorabox image, just not in LEDE. I have installed the kmod-mt76 and kmod-mt76-core, and kmod-mt76x2 packages, and configured the wifi in uci and luci but still cannot manage to get it to broadcast. Please tell me, am I overlooking something?

In LuCI the interfaces are there after installing the kmod-mt76 package, configured as Access Points, but there is a message that says "Wifi is disabled or not associated". Of course, I have enabled them.

Please, make sure you have also installed wpad-mini.
BTW, what Wi-Fi cards are you using?

That did it! Thank you pepe. I am using the two cards that come with it when you purchase from Unielec. On the dies they say MT7602EN and MT7612EN.

Hello,
I have the same board U7621, and a MT7602 wifi card and the same issue.

Same issue -> same solution (see pepe2k above)

Wifi working fine !

Thank you !!!
