I have tested both 22.03.5 and the latest 23.05 on my Raspberry Pi 4B and USB WIFI Linksys AE6000. Apparently it uses the Mediatek mt7610u chipset and it has been supported ever since Kernel 4.19 in Linux but it is not automatically detected in Openwrt. The card gets detected by using kmod-mt76x0u. The problem is that I can not use Wifi AC (5 GHz) in access point mode. No matter what settings, It does not appear to be found most of the times and rarely it gets detected but as soon as any devices try to connect to it , it does not give them IP address and then does not appear anymore . What should I do?
Welcome to the community!
Did you install everything necessary?
Does this chip do AP mode?
The product site mentions only STA (client) mode:
https://www.mediatek.com/products/broadband-wifi/mt7610u
From an old thread:
Yes I installed the package kmod-mt76x0u and it makes the card appear as AE6000 a/b/g/n/ac in the wireless tab.Unfortunately it can not be configured successfully in AP mode and AC WiFi. I am sure the chipset is not a dead-end but probably the aforementioned package is buggy and does not offer full support
The problem is I purchased this card after reading about it from https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi:

Note: I own this adapter and run it with Linux. Feel free to ask questions.
Walmart - $15 USD - [Linksys AE6000 Wireless-AC Mini USB Adapter](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Linksys-Mini-AC-Adapter-AC580-Network-adapter-USB-2-0-Wi-Fi-5/133196533)
Review by Nick - The Linksys AE6000 is a good product. It has better range than most other small adapters that I have used. I am not saying that it is a long range adapter, just that it does pretty good for being a very small adapter. And it is a small adapter. The picture may make the adapter look larger than it is. It is not much bigger than a nano size adapter. Overall, it is a solid performer. Recommended."
Here's the technical about this card:
