I have a TP-Link Archer C2 v1 AC750 and was running openwrt 22.03.5 and it was working well.
I just downloaded openwrt 23.05.2, performed an upgrade (via web access), it continued to say that it was flashing, its not working properly now, Its been about an hour since I updated.
I can't access it via a web browser (192.168.1.1) : unable to connect. If I click back on the browser, then forwared, it display "xhr request aborted by browser" and a minial openwrt banner
I can't update opkg (opkg update), reports with an error wget returned 5
I can't access wifi, wifi config returns wlan does not exist
I can log in using ssh, it does report openwrt 23.05.2
I can still use internet using my laptop via ethernet.
Is there anything I can do to recover this? Do I need to reflash again with a tftp server?
Since internet is working and you can SSH, maybe it's simply the web server not running. It happened to me a couple times; just restart the device. SSH and run reboot; if that doesn't fix the issue, then you can try the factory reset above.
I assume you have this device: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/archer_c2_ac750
The mentioned link is ONLY for v1 and v1.1 models, as written on the link above.
Make sure it is indeed this device!
Where did you 'just downloaded openwrt 23.05.2' ?
Best way to get back to you 'old' situation would be:
Use the OpenWrt Firmware-Selector and use TP-Link Archer C2 v1 as device.
Then select the version (right of the name, the link above has it already set)
You could expand Customize installed packages and/or first boot script to select more packages if needed.
Thanks to you all for your suggestions and advice.
I performed a soft factory reset as suggested by @peshos and it worked
@oxwivi thanks for recommending about rebooting, I will remember that for future needs.
@DGdodo Yes, that is the device I have. I got my firmware from the firmware selector for v1 (my device is v1). Thanks for your suggestions/tips, I will read up on them.
