did some upgrade thru sysupgrade to version 25 and it went well.
after this I tried to reappload clean openwrt to get some more space and bricked it
my router is auto-enabling failsafe mode (BREED) without clicking reset button while starting it.
whatever firmware I use it always stays in failsafe mode. tried it all. FACTORY and SYSUPGRADE, none works.
Any suggestions? I can upload some screenshots if needed
yup, mine is ver.1 never worked. I even tried different firmware, sometimes it restarts and no response, sometimes it goes back into BREED even though I’m not triggering it. like no push reset button while turning it on. weird, I thought failsafe is the eaasiest part to recover my brick… probably some additional manipulations required, cause I see no thing that could be done wrong
maybe install some OEM original firmware and update it through interface?

The specs might have allowed you to install, but not enough memory.

Unless you wiped the settings to defaults, that, probably corrupted the little memory it had left.
It still has a physical reset. Try that but that router is limited.
maybe get some 20 version? or install with no luci for a try? cause those firmware I see is up to 8mb, but usually less like 7.8 or something, should be enough if I get it right
They lack security and I would not know if current add-on packages would work.
But to answer you directly: Yes, they would run.
there is some internal reset in Breed in chinese of course, it got options line tplink openwrt ddwrt and AtherosSDK (Openwrt). does it make sence?
I've never seen BREED. I do not remember it dual booting.
firstboot -y && reboot
will soft reset, if you can get it to take it.
firstboot && reboot
if you want it to confirm before executing.
If you want to get it working, it needs to get a clean install.

Most do not want you using old firmware but someone will come along.

I think you have simply corrupted the file system and it is recoverable if it is responding at all.
in order to type it I got to hit 22 port? Do I? Is there any other way around? Probably filesystem thing, still my reset doesn’t help, always in failsafe mode.
I’m having an idea that 7.8 might be too much to take and figuring out of no luci firmware might save the day. like 5-6 mb. AI says like even 7.6-7.8 mb thing could be a problem to upload cause of different filesystem.
here in breed I even can clock the proc... fun:)
8 went EOL at least a year ago.
I'm sure you make more an hour than the hours this could take to just replace it but someone will find it challenging enough to try-until-it-dies or works, if you want to wait a few hours...
I know all I would do with TELNET is make it worse.
The US version had a typical TP-Link bootloader which is u-boot not BREED.
I don't know if there was a special Chinese market version I thought that there was only one kind of V1, all the same worldwide other than region codes.
Generally the most reliable and bombproof way to debrick is to command the bootloader with serial. Load and boot the initramfs image of OpenWrt in RAM then use it to sysupgrade flash the sysupgrade.
With 8 MB flash you probably want to make custom builds rather than install packages at runtime, which does not use flash space as efficiently.
I finally cracked it.
Do hard reset in Breed/Uboot whatever. This goes first

gotta wait long time like 5 minutes or maybe 10. I didn’t see any indication that it went well. Turn on+reset = your failsafe mode becomes openwrt for a while flash it with
immortalwrt-21.02.7-ath79-generic-tplink_tl-wdr3500-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade
do not keep settings while flashing. worked for me
For unknown to me reason it doesnt flash from breed for the first time I just bombard it until I get it.
