I recently bought a TP-Link VR400 AC1200 and wanted to flash it with openwrt, but I saw that this model is not in the supported devices list.
I don't quite understand why: the processor is a Broadcom 47189 and it has 128MB of Ram, 16MB of storage for the firmware, all elements that are in line with the broad specs for an open-wrt-supported device.
Am I missing something? It would be nice if this inexpensive yet powerful piece of equipment could be tweaked with openwrt.
Thanks for your answers.
You missed that this broadcom SOC lacks drivers for xDSL, FXS and (most likely) wireless support, rendering it pretty useless.
