TP-Link TL-R470T+ using OpenWrt?

Hi, it seems to me that the TP-Link TL-R470T+ uses OpenWRT. There is no GPL source available, but I would like to run "real" stock OpenWRT on it, not TP-Link's custom version... Any ideas how I'd go about that?

See the /cgi-bin/luci URL...

Some hints at https://forum.archive.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=53652

(just hints, no confirmation of what's in the box, but there is a link to GPL sources there)

This is not that router though, it is a V6.0 with 128 MB RAM and 16 MB Flash (and an, I'm assuming, Mediatek SoC)...

Beat on TP-Link for the GPL drop, get access to the serial would be a couple first steps to take.

You might be able to binwalk their firmware and extract the files to see what's there and if there are any clues as to weaknesses, as well as the kernel version (and, perhaps the miracle of a DTB).

I have news  There is a GPL dump: https://milankra.orion.rs/TL-R470T-plus(UN)6.0_GPL.tar.bz2

can someone post correct URL, for above i get "Server not found"... :slightly_frowning_face: :

It can be obtained directly from TP-Link.

Wow!! Interesting, has anyone attempted to rebuild their own firmware? I'm trying to add basic things, like ability to ssh/telnet into the box

I haven't been able to build it, it seems incomplete, and very very very convoluted and non-standard. I have even tried to create a configuration for the device for the latest OpenWRT snapshots, and failed with that too. The source is, for me, unusable.

any good news for this? i have a r470T+ That i have been using for load balancing, but now i replaced it with an archer a5 v5 with open wrt load balancer app
