I am running openwrt on a raspberry pi 4 now and I need a tp-link archer T3U plus driver as the built in wireless on the raspberry pi does not support the channels on band B with I need
if it's Realtek, and you want an AP, don't bother.
its all i have that would be able to do what i need
i think it is realtek though, i would want client and ap
i have a T2U nano but its range is not good enough
would i have to install the driver over command line, if so would it be supported in LuCi, i have had it working in linux before
you'll probably have to start by adding the driver.
what does lsusb have to say about it ?
what's the PID and VID.
not openwrt, I take it ?
At the minute I am having trouble accessing it though the web interface
how would i be able to use the make command
how do i install and use make and makefile as they both say not found
No idea, ask the person who provided you with whatever you're trying to compile.
Or use some Openwrt package as reference.
I downloaded a package with git and scp it to openwrt and need to use the make command and make install command
cd RTL8812BU_for_Raspbian
make
sudo make install
sudo reboot
Openwrt <> Raspbian.
You're not supposed to compile Openwrt on Openwrt, with some exceptions.
I says for raspbian but I though it would be the same sort of thing on openwrt
I was not compiling openwrt on openwrt as far as i know
can you find me what i need, it has to be possible
I did it by installing every realtek driver and mediatek driver
apart from scan button finds nothing country code is not there and no channel selection
so it can not be used
can someone give me a list of packages to install or a list of commands to run to get this working
or at least something to try
there has to be a way, I need this sorted
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 2357:0138 Realtek 802.11ac NIC
in that case, how does this relate to openwrt ?
cd RTL8812BU_for_Raspbian
make
sudo make install
sudo reboot
not going to happen, I'm not Sisyphus.
that was pretty much what you were told from day one, wasn't it ?
great, now search the board for it, to find other unsuccess stories.
I meant it can not be used in its current state
it is visible in LuCi now but is not functional

I have made the full switch to openwrt we have no internet at all, because I need the T3U working to get internet to the room as it is high gain
I need this working today I only have onboard a T2U nano and a T3U plus
the T2U nano is supported but the range is terrible
new plan turn it into a dumb ap as it is called here
and use my pi3 to be all the other parts, it will will get replaced with a pi5 soon
I think thats the end of me with openwrt then, I will just be stuck with stock tp-link firmware no raspberry pi access point
all I needed was a few device with 802.11r support
If the RPi and the T2U or T3U was the intended hw for it, you definitely picked the worst possible components for the task.
