I installed the latest OpenWrt firmware on my TP-Link EAP225 v3 using the TP-Link web interface. After the update, I am no longer able to access the device via web interface or SSH.
My setup / what I have tried:
Device: MacBook or Raspberry Pi 3B (Linux) (to cancel out problems with apple...)
Both are configured with static IP: 192.168.1.100/24 (but not connected at the same time)
Connection: PC → PoE injector (802.1af - included with AP) → Access Point (no other switch/router in between)
I cannot reach the AP at 192.168.1.1. I also connected the AP to a DHCP network but no address is assigned.
Additional observations:
Failsafe mode does seem to work but does not have any effect (LED blinks yellow very rapidly)
Normal boot sequence: blinking green → brief yellow → then solid green
At the moment, the AP ends up with a solid green LED, but remains unreachable.
Has anyone encountered this before or has suggestions on how to debug or recover the device?
I tried but I can't find the RXD and TXD Pins on my board
I think my hardware is correct -
I have a TPLink V3, my network adapter is an Atheros AR8033-AL1A (not the one specified in the TP-Link EAP225 entry).
My firmware version was 5.1.1 (>5.0.3) and I have installed the openwrt-25.12.1-ath79-generic-tplink-eap225-v3-squashfs-factory.bin via the webinterface.
Befordehand I disabled the firmware check via ssh.
before flashing the firmware my managementport was on vlan 101 and I had configured multiple vlans - this can not interfere with the firmware flash or am i wrong?
