TP-Link C7 v4 5Ghz wi-fi crash/disappearing

I am using a TP-Link C7 v4 as an Access Point.

Running:

Uptime was about 4 days when I faced this issue. I noticed that the 5GHz AP "disappeared" but not the 2.4 GHz AP.

Can you share:

  • ubus call system board
  • /etc/config/wireless (redact keys, etc.)
  • /etc/config/network

Change ath10k deriver and girmware (not board files) from -ct to mainline (or vice versa)
And provide full ath10k init messages. Backt$ace without decode is just rando, numbers in kaslr world.

girmware = firmware?

When you say "full ath10k init messages", do you mean the kernel log back to startup, or is there a configuration change I should make to get more logging?

Yeah, big fingers.
More of a logread, but first check if changing drivers help. It is common occurence that one set works on one hardware while not on other.

DFS event at startup.

Since this is in the dfs range, try using a non-dfs channel. For example, ch36. This will ensure that the system does not use dfs channels and thus will not be subject to shutting down upon radar hits.

You need to manually edit the /etc/config/network

Then near 5GHz radio:

Thanks all for the insight. I did some more background reading here https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/basic#dfsradar_detection and then chose a channel that does not require DFS.
