Hello everyone, I installed OpenWRT firmware on my Archer AX23 v1.2 router about a day ago. The main purpose of installing OpenWRT was to set up the SQM system and address the 'bufferbloat' issue in my internet. After completing the installation and configuring the SQM system, the results were not quite as expected. If there is anyone who can help with this, I would be very grateful.
i am also using 1gb gigafiber 1gb download / 1gb upload.
And I just want to know how good Wifi performance is.
I had low wifi speed experience when I tried snapshot image on v1.0 so i'm feeling a little hesitated.
Main issue I noticed for mt7621 chipset (I have Mi 4A gigabit too) was that it doesn't have HW offloading for wifi.
Plus, mt7621's cpu already reached it's 99% cpu usage for 350mbps while stock F/W use 40% for 700mbps.
So.. on official 23.05 and v1.2, how good is the performance?
There was a site, use that site to turn tp link firmware image into, then that site turns it into openwrt acceptable format. Then you flash that tp link firmware in the openwrt flashing section.
sqm and hardware flow-offloading does not work, sqm and software flow-offloading is technically working, but you lose most of the benefit of the software flow-offloading that way - and this hardware isn't fast enough to do sqm/cake at 1 GBit/s line-speed, far from it.
filogic 820/ 830 might do, x86_64 (e.g. alderlake-n n100) certainly will - RPi4 or the faster rockchip SOCs (the newer Nano-Pis) should do.
