With OpenWrt 18.06.0 r7188-b0b5c64c22 / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-18.219.52706-a49e4e4) installed in a TP-Link Archer C2600, the status page shows this:
Tinyproxy Status
Failed to retrieve statistics from url: http://127.0.0.1:8888
Issue resolved: the TinyProxy Status Page is filtered through TinyProxy itself. This means that in default mode, the page which uses address 127.0.0.1 is allowed through but if the Default Deny option is selected, then that address is filtered, resulting in the message:
Failed to retrieve statistics from url: http://127.0.0.1:8888.
Solution is to add 127.0.0.1 to the list of addresses allowed through in the Filter File to be uploaded if Default Deny option is chosen. This Filter File upload is found under the [Filtering and ACLs] tab.
