Good day. I want to use time.google.com as ntp server. is this correct or should i untick "Use DHCP advertised servers"? Thanks
Google says you should not use theirs.
Find your country and enter respective 4 servers.
EDIT: that checkbox is usually not instrumented, but if you were provider it would be your interest to sync all your CPEs, as for end customer you can switch it off, if they want they can skew your time mitm either way.
Ok thanks. But should i untick "Use DHCP advertised servers" or I'll leave it checked
Sorry edited my post while you were reading, leave it on. No safety gain in unchecking.
where do they say this?
uncheck it if you have defined NTP servers/pools
They don't. They say:
We recommend that you don’t configure Google Public NTP together with non-leap-smearing NTP servers.
