TFTP Retry count exceeded; starting again

When I trying to download openwrt using tftp by : tftpboot 0x8100openwrt-21.02.0-lantiq-xrx200-tplink_tdw8970-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

I faced this problem : retry count exceeded; starting again

Please can any one help me.

disabled firewall on the host hosting the image ?
does the host above have the IP, as shown in uboot, while trying to tftpboot ?

Yes I follow the same instructions, but how turn off the firewall

depends on your OS, doesn't it ?

I am using windows and tera term

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/turn-microsoft-defender-firewall-on-or-off-ec0844f7-aebd-0583-67fe-601ecf5d774f

same problem brother not solved.

is this exactly the command line you used ?
is the file name really 0x8100openwrt-21.02.0-lantiq-xrx200-tplink_tdw8970-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

Yes brother I used this command, and the filename correct.

are you installing openwrt, or upgrading ?

is the tftpd set up properly ?

My router has only one .bin file which it is upgrading one.

indeed, but the procedure is different if you're already running openwrt...

I only follow these instructions : https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/td-w8970_v1#serial

there's also https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/td-w8970_v1#luci_web_upgrade_process

depending on the current status of the device.

and if you followed the instructions for the serial installation, you're missing a space, in the tftpboot command

There is at least a space missing between the adress and the filename.

Last time when I saw that meessage I didn't plug in the Ethernet cable... Only checked that after trying whatever else and gradually starting to freak out
